Camping here is somewhat primitive in my opinion. No showers and its in the middle of nowhere!! That being said, it's super beautiful!
The area is beautiful, but the campsites themselves could use some TLC. The vault toilets constantly let off a strong odor. All the pavilions are covered in graffiti. There was trash l around my campsite (which I picked up). The fishing was bad, very few fish in these waters. There is no park map posted, and only one of the trails was well marked. I also didn't like that the campsite was so close to the road. I was literally the only camper all weekend, and I now know why. Probably won't stay again.
A quite and quaint recreational campground with the necessary amennaties, just on the banks of the Illinois bayou. I look forward to camping out here during the summer months.
